EasyHDR is an image processing software that produces and tone maps High Dynamic Range images. Say goodbye to unwanted over- and underexposures. Every once in a while I get the error that "C:\Program Files\easyHDR\temp.bmp" can not be accessed so maybe this temp. With easyHDR, get your digital photos closer to what you've seen with your own eyes.
When having a look on this please check if the temp directory with the time stamp is used always in batch mode. There the access rights should be correct.Ģ) Adding something more distinctive to the folder name will do. So it should be sufficient to use the user’s temp folder. It also wouldn't be good to try to create the folder in the same directory where the files are, because someone may want to load photos directly from a CD or pendrive.Ģ) Yeah, I'll add something more distinctive to the folder name :) It would do the trick.ġ) I see. Is it possible to add an distinctive criteria such as "instance no." or to add Milli- or Microseconds to the temp folder name?Īlternatively: Is it possible for each batch process to create its temp folder once rather than creating a new one for each picture?ġ) Well, the destination is known when you save the result and the temp folder has to be created on loading. When running as ADMIN user it is creating 2 temp folders (one for each instance) but when starting a new picture in the same second it is trying to create a folder with the same name. So maybe there should be an option of using the target folder also as temp folder to ensure proper access rights?Ģ) I found that you are correct. But having a look regarding problem 2 I found, that it is unable to create the temp folder due to access restrictions (VISTA only). Can you check if two separate directories are created? Then, if the problem occurs again it will mean that it's something different.ġ) I think the access rights for the target folder is fine as it is the "My Pictures" folder of the particular user. However there is a risk of running two instances in one second - then the two folder names will be the same.
(?)Ģ) Hmmm, many instances are allowed, each uses it's own directory with a name of this scheme: "~easyhdrtmpYYYYMMDDhhmmss".
Maybe the folder you want to save the results to is not available for the "user" to write and only "admin" has full priviliges.
Is it possible for each easyHDR instance to use an own temp directory? This would make it possible to have multiple instances of easyHDR batch processing files - or is there another solution?ġ) I don't know how to start with this. "Cannot create file C:\Program Files\easyHDR\~temp.bmp" "Cannot open file C:\\~easyhdrtmp\~tmp0thumb.bm" or Although I can start 2 instances and the first couple of pictures are processed fine, one instance is aborting after a while with an error message like
So my plan was to simply run 2 instances of easyHDR in batch processing mode to make use of both CPU cores.
Is it possible to get this changed and store easyHDR batch results using Windows VISTA not beeing an ADMIN? If not, I would suggest this point to be put in the FAQ.Ģ) I am aware, that it is not quite easy to have easyHDR supporting dual-core CPUs.
It is required to run this program as ADMIN in order to get the results stored on disk.
Recently I bought a new PC (dual-core, Windows VISTA) where I found the following two things (bugs?).ġ) When using the batch processing of easyHDR under Windows VISTA it is not storing the results (even if it is shown in easyHDR log). I wrote a small PERL script to automatically create batch lists for easy HDR so I can enhance (LDR) virtually all my pictures. One of the best parts of easyHDR for me is the batch processing part.
